RESPIRATORY MONITOR

Design Momentum worked with University of Sydney researchers on this National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) funded project to monitor respiratory movement during MRI scans. 

A patient's body movement while breathing can affect the accuracy of imaging, thereby increasing the time spent in what can be a daunting environment for the patient, in order to get a correct image. The breathing monitor seeks to improve efficiency and user experience by communicating via a display screen with the patient.

PROPOSED DESIGN

The display screen can be positioned for a wide variety of MRI scanners and can be quickly adjusted by medical staff. It is easily viewed by patients lying in several different positions throughout the scanning experience.
